Mysore with Sri Rangapatna.

Mysore, the city of palaces is a city for every traveler. This cultural capital of Karnataka, not only offers richness of past but also presents a beautiful amalgamation of historical splendor with the scenic beauty of nature which is dotted with lakes, waterfalls and gardens. There are many popular places to see in Mysore, each promising a unique experience to the visitors.

Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace in Srirangapatana, also referred to as Dariya Daulat Bagh was being used as summer retreat by former Mysuru ruler, Tipu Sultan.

Tipu Sultan’s summer palace was built during 1778-1784 AD. Construction of the palace was initiated by Hyder Ali (Tipu Sultan’s father) and completed by Tipu Sultan. Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace has two stories, built with wood, mortar, stone and plaster. Huge garden area surrounds the palace. Interiors are well decorated with floral motifs and paintings showcasing historic events and battles. Tipu Sultan’s burial grounds are also nearby.

Shivanasamudra Falls is a cluster of waterfalls on the borders of Malavalli, Mandya and Kollegala, Chamarajanagara, in Karnataka, India, situated along the river Kaveri. The falls form the contour between the districts of Chamarajanagara and Mandya.

Belur, Halebedu and Shravanabelegola.

Belur and Halebidu, are located in Hassan district in the state of Karnataka. They are renowned for their Hindu and Jain temples, built during the rule of the Hoysala dynasty. The twin towns are incredibly important as they give us a glimpse of the regal past of the state. Belur is about 220 km away from Bengaluru, while Halebidu is 210 km.

Shravanabelegola is a popular weekend getaway from Bengaluru. It is famous for a massive 57-ft high statue of Bahubali, which is the world's tallest monolithic stone statue carved out of a single granite block.

Talakadu, Somnathpur and Shivanasamudra

Talakadu historic site and of archaeological importance. It's not only a spiritual pilgrimage center but is a scenic beauty with vast spreads of sand. History: The illustrious and powerful Western Gangas ruled from 350 to 1050 AD until they were overthrown by the Cholas in the 11th century.

Somnathpur, also known as Somnathpur, lies in the district of Mysore in Karnataka, India. This little town is located at a distance of 35 Kilometers from the City of Mysore. This town is home to the famous Chennakeshava Temple built by the Hoysala commander, Somnath, in 1268 A.D is a live example of the heritage and culture of the Hoysala Empire and this temple was constructed using the soapstone
